We visit Tarangire, well known for it’s elephants, the Ngorongoro Crater, exceptionally rich in wild life, Serengeti, at the time when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather to calve and when there are exceptionally large numbers of carnivors and scavengers, and Lake Manyara, famous for tree-climbing lions and varied bird life.
Especially thrilling will be the visit to Lake Eyasi and the Hadza people, many of which still live as hunters and gatherers. We will have the opportunity to accompany them when hunting in the traditional way with spears and bows & arrows. We will also meet the Datogas and, of course, the Maasai.

We visit the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve (Serengeti’s extension into Kenya) and Lake Nakuru National Park, but also some less visited areas, such as Maralal, Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria. There will be great opportunities of viewing African wildlife, but also of getting a glimpse of both modern and traditional ways of living. In East Africa it is unavoidable that much time is spent in vehicles (landrover or minibus), but we have one day walking on Mount Kenya and there will be opportunities for shorter walks in Nairobi National Park, along the Naru Moru River, in the Maralal Game Reserve, and at Lake Bogoria.

Danube Delta and Dobrogea
10 days. Departures Summer & Autumn 2015
Preliminary price: SEK 16 500:– in shared double room

Where the Danube flows into the Black Sea, in Romania on the border to Ukraine, there is a large delta mainly famous for birds; two species of pelicans, almost all of Europe’s herons and egrets, white-tailed eagle, glossy ibis, vast numbers of ducks and terns, etc. But one also encounters a special culture; a way of life formed by the unique environment and, until very recently, the isolated geographical position.
In Dobrogea, south of the delta, many people have left ther marks; Scythians, Greeks, Romans, Turks, and others. Today extensive agriculture plains are interspaced with limestone gorges and hilly forests & pastures ideal for rambling and hiking. Life in the area is changing rapidly, for the best and the worst, as the modern times makes it’s appearance, but it is still possible to get an insight in traditional ways of living. But for how long?

For these tours I cooperate with various tour operators provided with necessary guarantees.
You can book through me, but all payments are made to the “official” organizer.
Prices are usually based on at least 10–15 participants, but with slight changes in
the programme most tours can be carried out with only 4–6 persons.
The tours start in Scandinavia (usually Stockholm or Copenhagen), but it is possible to join
at the destination, in which case the price for the air fare will be deducted.
Most participants will be Scandinavians, but most (if not all) speak English. The tour leader speaks
English and usually we have English speaking local guides and/or drivers.
